Fines at a Glance – How to avoid common mistakes

Last year, the Vermont Real Estate Information Network (VREIN) converted from Finis to Offutt’s InnoVia system to maintain and manage the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) used by VREIN subscribers. During this conversion, VREIN suspended fines traditionally levied for errors in listings on the MLS.

On May 1, 2006, VREIN reinstated its MLS fines policy. “We realize that no one wants to be fined for errors in listings on VREIN’s MLS,” said Kathleen Sweeten, VREIN executive vice president. “It’s important, however, that we take measures to protect the integrity of VREIN’s MLS for subscribers and for the public searching for property information using our MLS.”

VREIN staff is available to answer any questions you might have regarding your listings. If you would like training in InnoVia, please contact VREIN at 862-6407. For scheduled classes, visit our education pages. You can also find helpful information on InnoVia by clicking on the help feature of their web site.
