Mary Ward
Director of Communications
Mary has worked in communications and marketing for nearly two decades and has won numerous national writing and design awards. As Director of Communications at the NVBR, Mary manages the NVBR and VREIN web sites and is the editor and designer of the print and digital newsletters for both organizations. Mary is a graduate of the University of Florida's Wedgeworth Leadership Institute, a two-year international study/travel program, and a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management, a four-year association management program.
When not at NVBR
Mary is an avid fly fisher and can be found practicing catch and release on streams and rivers throughout New England. She is a fly fishing instructor for Casting For Recovery (CFR), a non-profit organization that provides fly fishing retreats throughout the U.S. for women recovering from breast cancer, and she serves on CFR's Leadership Council. Mary also teaches fly fishing for the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. In the winter, she enjoys skiing and snowshoeing.
