Q. Does a buyers’ agent have the right to be at the presentation of an offer?
A. According to the National Association of REALTOR® MLS policy (Policy E, Section 9, Participants’ Rights), cooperating participants or their representatives have the right to participate in the presentation of any offer they secure to purchase of lease to the seller or lessor. They do not have the right to be present at any discussion or evaluation of the offer by the seller or lessor and the listing broker.

Q. Does a listing need to be renewed if it expires while it is pending with a contract?
A. Yes, according to the Vermont Real Estate Commission all listings should remain in force until closed. If the listing expires after an offer has been accepted the listing should be renewed by the sellers.

Q. How do I know my National Association of REALTORS® member ID?
A. Accessing valuable information from NAR and VAR requires your Member Identification Number. Your Member Number (or NRDS Number) is the nine digit number located on the label of your monthly REALTOR® Magazine. You can also call NVBR and we will be happy to provide that number to you.

Q. When a new agent joins a firm and wants to become a NVBR member, what is the procedure they must follow?
A. The process is not difficult, but there are some things you need to know.

Q. What is needed when a Sales Agent transfers from one office to another?
A. NVBR requires a copy of the letter sent to the Vermont Real Estate Commission verifying the transfer. In addition, the agent will need to complete a new key lease agreement and a new VREIN subscriber application form.

A. NVBR dues are assessed from the license date posted on the Vermont Real Estate Commission website.
