NVBR is sad to announce the unexpected passing of longtime member Celine Teeson, Teeson Real Estate. Celine died suddenly yesterday while kayaking on Mallets Bay.
Celine was a Realtor® for 35 years. From the beginning she committed her time to the profession and to her peers by volunteering on the local, state and national level. She, along with her husband Mac who predeceased her in 2015, were integral parts of the Realtor® community.
She served on many NVBR Committees and held every NVBR leadership position including the NVBR presidency in 1993. She also held many leadership positions at VAR including serving as State President in 1999. She was an advocate for legislative initiatives and represented Vermont on the national level as NAR’s federal political coordinator to Senator Leahy. In 2000, NAR recognized Celine for re-establishing the RPAC Committee in Vermont.
In 1997 Celine received the Realtor® of the Year Award by NVBR and VAR. And, in 2009 she was honored with NVBR’s Distinguished Service Award.
Her long standing commitment to the community is an impressive list of volunteer and leadership positions in business organizations, non-profit charities and local programs. She assisted in Realtor® fund drives for Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina including participating in the rebuild of New Orleans during the 2006 NAR Convention.
Through her many roles and her continuous service representing Realtors®, she reminded us all that being a Realtor® is part of a professional commitment that strives to make us better serving our clients, customers and community.
A celebration of life is being planned by the family. We will share that information for you when more details are available.
